Located in the quaint coastal community of Sidney, BC, this restaurant needed a design that gave a sense of location, instead of a literal interpretation. Gone were the shells, fishing buoys and fishing nets and in came a casual West Coast-inspired style. We translated the colours and textures of the restaurant’s beach location into the design, taking inspiration from the abalone shells, sand and driftwood for our finishes and furniture, along with a beautiful aquamarine inspired by the sea. We also chose not to use amber-tinted lighting and went with clear light fixtures that wouldn’t compete with the exquisite incoming light and reflection from the sun and ocean – truly adding to the guest experience in this unique location.
