For this area we were given the task of updating the lobby, and at the same time blending the changes into the existing architecture and finishes.

The Westin Lobby is one of Whistler’s iconic spaces. The space is majestic and natural, following our earlier concept of biophilic design.

The large fireplace and rustic rock walls bring the natural alpine elements inside. We introduced modern furnishing and forms to provide an organic flow in the space and intentionally reinvented the typical rectangular furniture layouts. The free form furniture creates a casual and flexible lobby space.

The customer response has been terrific. It’s always a pleasure to work on such an Whistler Icon!
