Inside Design Studio Inc. was recently involved in completing an experiential boutique hotel project called the Skwachays Lodge located on West Pender St. inside the Vancouver Native Housing Society. The idea behind the project was to transform eighteen hotel rooms for guests to stay in, the artist themed rooms will compliment additional aboriginal cultural activities offered on the property.

Selected as one of the six Interior Design firms, IDSI volunteered their time and expertise to complete three Aboriginal-themed luxury suites. IDSI designers collaborated with visionary artists, Sabina Hill and Mark Preston to transform their vision, as well as with industry suppliers to execute the concept into a functional and successful space.  Each of the rooms that IDSI and the artists collaborated on has their own theme and are complemented by original pieces of native art.

IDSI was very fortunate to be able to bring forward their expertise to contribute a positive change for the urban Aboriginal community. It was a rare and unique opportunity to help enhance and share this rich culture to visitors, which subsequently offers healing, fulfillment, empowerment and prosperity to the Aboriginal community.
